| 29m FRERS PERFORMANCE SLOOP |
Fredericks/Power & Sail of Newport Beach, California, coordinated this build on behalf of an American client and oversaw the project. Designed by the prolific German Frers, the yacht's profile reflects a retrospective departure from his current design philosophy in favor of some traditional elements requested by the client. A graceful sheer, modestly raked stem and elegant teak toe rail contribute to a dramatic visual impact. Following in the wake of Frers notables Unfurled, Ipanema, the Nautor Swan Series and K2, no compromises have been made when it comes to performance. A generous sail plan, moderate displacement and refined hull lines will assure a responsive feel to the helm and fast passages.
Yachting Developments Limited, Auckland, New Zealand, builder of the 2002 International Superyacht Design Award, winner, Silvertip, constructed the yacht in advanced composites. Her teak interior will feature an owner's stateroom aft with two ensuites, two identical guest staterooms, a spacious deckhouse and intimate lower saloon. Southern Spars supplied the carbon fibre mast, and Southern Furl boom, Doyle Sails New Zealand Ltd. is the sailmaker and Electronic Navigation Ltd. of Auckland provided the electronics.
